Trying to make someone jealous?

(I have put this question in the 'Singles %26amp; Dating' section, but I feel it is relevant here too)





It seems that some guys (and girls of course) will try to make a girl jealous for example by flirting with another girl. Im talking about in the first stages, when he isn't even going out with the girl that he likes (and maybe hasn't even told her how he feels) but it's quite clear that he likes her.



This whole thing of trying to make girls jealous, is tricky ground - if guys do it a little bit, it can be harmless. But it can get a bit out of hand and the girl may even start to think the guy isn't interested in her. Some people like the 'make him/her jealous' game and enjoy reacting to it by making the other person jealous too - but personally, I don't like it and I find it can be pathetic and if you're not the jealous type it backfires on the guy anyway, which is funny lol. I think it's all about the guy being insecure and wanting the girl's attention, which shows up his weaknesses...not much of a turn on lol.



I want to know:



why do guys do it?....do all guys do it or is it a certain type?........when they try to make the girl jealous do they genuinely believe that she will like him more and find him more desirable?

i think its just plain stupid if you like the girl TELL HER dont flirt with other girls to make the other girl you like to like you cuz when you start flirting with the other girl not only will the girl you like will stop liking you but the other girl flirting with will START to like you then it would just be a big mess

Im not a guy but i do that to guy (get off with other guys in front of them) if they arent showing me enough attention, like as a punishment/desperate attempt to get their attention. It rarely works as i always go for arrogant guys who have too much pride to show that theyre jealous.

so id say ppl do it when theyre desperate/insecure for attention, based on my own actions
They do this bcoz they want to see how muchthe girl is possesive for them. If the girl is posessive they really enjoy by making her jealous. And they really like the moment when girl is jealous bcoz they realize atleast someone is really care him which also gives a satisfaction and confidence.
